new work getting ready for the first firing –
mixture of terracotta and white clay, engobe and underglaze applied while still quite damp
this will be bisque fired before deciding on the next stages of colouring – a lot could happen between this stage and the final piece. approx 50 cm tall
What a beauty! …. She is truly gorgeous Ronnie! The fragile tenderness and innocence that you have managed to portray in her expression, is utterly magnificent! …. And I am captivated by her lovely head wrap too! Another Cinderella in the making I think! Beautiful work!
This is exquisite
cinderella …. like that thought thanks
thanks Rosie – bit of a journey for her yet 🙂
Hope all goes well. I did quite a bit of ceramics in my youth and the firings were always tense times 🙂
Love it. Feels both medieval and modern. I don’t know why medieval but that’s what hit me. Love the expression and the colours.
Thanks Steven – she underwent a few changes yesterday even before she gets to the fire – I will post some pics of her progress.
