I love drawing with a biro and sometimes I pull them at life drawing sessions here is one image from thursday I did some others but I want to add a bit of colour to them first – this is an A4 strathmore visual journal 20 min pose.
We are all done and dusted – monday morning saw us delivering the work to Noosa Regional Gallery. If I thought my task of getting everything there safely was an ordeal – the gallery staff were exhibiting a well oiled machine. In two days they de-installed two huge exhibitions and installed four new shows. A huge thank-you to their professionalism and capability and curatorial prowess in making my small contribution a pleasure to view.

Opening night and artist talk have all gone off without a hitch – now I clean the house!!!
I have waxed and polished the drawers and glued the girls in place (I envisage at night they poke their heads out and have a chin wag) now all I have to do is pack the whole lot up for delivery monday. Here are some pics of the final two.
The above caryatid is suspended inside the drawer. Part of her head and body is covered in scrim and then waxed.
Yesterday I was lucky enough to sit uninterrupted for a couple of hours waiting for David who was having a MRI (nothing life threatening – I hope). I started reading then pulled out my sketchbook. These could be some new caryatids developing – I need to get some new sculptures finished in the next few weeks for another adventure – hopefully I will have more to report on this front in the coming months. biro in A5 sketchbook
My favourite pastime at the moment appears to be ‘make over’. I have been working over St. Sebastion’s Wife for a few days now and finally I think the work maybe finished. I have posted the original and the ‘make over’.The new piece has several gel medium prints on silk from photos of my caryatids.
Still not happy with the photo but this is it for the day.
I have been trying to finish ‘mothercourage’ for entry into a sculpture prize which closes on thursday. I have all but finished the work – fired it on saturday and started colouring sunday night. I finished colouring and waxing today. I have one goodish detail photo but a photo of the whole piece is eluding me. I think I will have to try again tomorrow.
