trying to dream a resolution

I have been really struggling with this drawing for the last few days – trying to dream a resolution.
And like many of my drawings it began in a completely different place – and has undergone lots of transitions.
As a mother of twins the toll on the body is immense – living change.  It is finally close to being finished (I think).

sweet siren song

A good friend suggested this title for another piece – but for me it could be the title for a whole new series.
This drawing has just been completed and I have several large head sculptures ready to go into the fire
(pics will be posted soon).  sweet siren song is mixed media on arches hot press 320lb.  120 x 100 cm
watercolour, gesso, acylic, conte, pastel and charcoal.

abandoned

This figure was one of the first large sculptural pieces that I completed 12 months ago.Unresolved it stood in the corner of the studio abandoned while I struggled to get a more thematic group of works together for my solo exhibition last april.  Last week I started painting her more as an experiment towards some other large figures that I am currently working on – I am reasonably happy with the result – she is certainly more resolved. new_figure

I can see clearly now !

My exhibition ends tomorrow and I am looking forward to bringing some of the pieces home.  Below are a couple of installation stills of the caryatids.

Apologies for not posting anything for the last few weeks – I have been busy but perhaps more importantly I have had the second cataract removed from my eyes.

Having been  all but monocular for the last few months has been a bit challenging but I am very fortunate that my eyesight has now been restored.  And yes I can see all the wrinkles.
